On Wednesday 14th November 2012 at 12 noon on Bungay Staithe there will be a ceremony in which three English oak trees will be planted.  These trees are to be planted in memory of the fallen in Afghanistan and the Middle East.

Representatives of each of our armed forces will plant a tree after they have been blessed by the Revd Ian Barclay Byrne.

Oak trees have been chosen because of their long association with the Army and the Navy and because they are the most splendid of our native trees – what better memorial?

The ceremony will be opened by the Bungay Mayor Terry Reeve and we hope that a large number of the public will be able to attend.  For more details, contact Deirdre Shepherd at [email protected], or call 01986 893638.
