Bungay’s new experimental one-way system was opened on 9th September 2012.
This is for a trial period of six months. Suffolk County Council are prepared to make any alterations to solve any problems that come to light as a result of the scheme during this time, which will result in an extension to the trial period to enable a thorough testing of any alterations made.
Before then there are some changes to the waiting restrictions currently in place in Bungay.

Bungay Town Council hopes that everyone will approach this trial with an open mind and would like to reiterate that the funding for the trial is from the Suffolk Highways budget. It cannot be passed to any other body (eg the Police to fund traffic wardens) and if not spent in Bungay would be spent in another Suffolk town.
