Waveney voluntary and community groups struggling with budgets for grant applications are invited to attend a free “Costing your Project” workshop. The trainers are experienced in costing projects and will give lots of practical advice explaining terms and techniques with a friendly approach.

The event is hosted by Waveney Community Forum, Lowestoft on the 22nd January 10.00 – 1.00.

Waveney Community Forum exists to help the hundreds of voluntary and community groups across the area. It covers young to older people, those who like amateur dramatics to those who care for others, from park friends groups to befriending and rotary clubs – all with a wide range of causes and purposes. Members receive information and support, from start up to development and funding advice across Waveney from four Community Development Officers including a Black and Minority Ethnic Community Development Officer.

Waveney Community Forum, Senior Development Officer Fay Sheldon said “Grant funding is essential for many voluntary and community organisations. Whether it is to fund a new project or an existing one, understanding the costs and budget is a major part of the grant application. Many volunteers in organisations writing applications have little or no financial or funding background. An event such as this workshop supports the organisations to help them fulfil their role in the local community. Membership of Waveney Community Forum is free as is attendance at many of the workshops and events. Our aim is to promote and support voluntary and community organisations for the benefit of people and the environment in Waveney”.
