If you’re a poet ready to take your writing to the next level then the Aldeburgh Eight could be for you!
It’s a unique opportunity for eight emerging poets of any age to spend eight days in Suffolk – three days at Aldeburgh Poetry Festival, immediately followed by an intensive five-day rural retreat – led by experienced tutors Peter Sansom and Jackie Wills. There’s no other accelerated poetry development course like it.
Poets who can demonstrate a strong publishing track record (magazines, anthologies, individual pamphlet and possibly a first collection), real promise and clear evidence of commitment will be successful. The Aldeburgh Eight will take place 6-13 November 2015 and full details including how to apply are available on the website www.thepoetrytrust.org
All applications must be received by Monday 13 April 2015 and successful applicants will be notified by Friday 15 May 2015.
Previous participants are the best source of recommendation and typical feedback comes from them.
The Poetry Trust, and all the tutors, created such a caring and supportive environment, I felt able to turn the ‘poetry instinct’ button up full, and found myself writing differently! This was liberating, and I think the new work signals a new direction in my poetry. I am very grateful to The Poetry Trust, therefore, for this rare opportunity.
