Care Quality Commission awards an unconditional licence to mental health trust

The Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded a licence to continue to provide services by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)

To obtain the licence the Trust had to meet essential standards of quality and safety outlined by the CQC. The Trust was issued the licence without compliance conditions being added. Conditions are added when there are issues relating to the safety and quality of care.

Aidan Thomas, chief executive of the Trust, acknowledged the dedicated hard work of staff in ensuring the provision of high quality services to people suffering with mental ill health in Norfolk and Waveney:

“The Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provides a very high quality service. The CQC issuing a licence to the Trust to continue providing mental health services without compliance conditions is acknowledgement of this and the work of a very dedicated, professional and hard working staff.”
