Bungay-Community-Library

Work to improve and refurbish the children’s area at Bungay Library will be starting next Monday (24 February 2014).

The work will only take a week but during this time there will be no access to this part of the library.

The children’s books will still be available in the library from the mezzanine floor and staff will be able to help people access them.

The refurbishment will involve painting, reorganising, followed by installing new shelving and equipment to create a fresh and more colourful new look ready for a re-launch at the end of March.

The work is being funded by The Friends of Bungay Community Library (including the proceeds from a recent performance by local poet and library patron Luke Wright) and funding from County Councillor David Ritchie’s locality fund.

Sylvia Knights of the Bungay Community Library group, said: “We are very pleased about the prospect of improving our children’s area. This is the first redecoration in the library since it was opened in 1992 and has only been made possible by support from our community, it will make visiting the library a more enjoyable experience for both children and families.”
