Suffolk Police has donated over 70 Christmas present shoeboxes for the Operation Christmas Child campaign this year.

Officers and staff from around the county have put together 73 parcels, which will be sent to children around the world in hospitals, orphanages, Internally Displaced Persons camps, homeless shelters, and impoverished neighbourhoods.

The boxes were collected from Landmark House in Ipswich yesterday, Wednesday 21 November and taken to the central collection point. The boxes from our area will be going to Swaziland.

Licensing Inspector Becky Kidd-Stanton, who organised the collection again this year said: “The response from Constabulary members has been phenomenal. Hopefully the gifts will provide some joy this Christmas for children who come from underprivileged backgrounds in remote areas of the world. I would personally like to thank everyone who has made a contribution. Every shoebox makes a difference.”
