Seachange Arts, the organisation behind the Out There Festival, bring Valentine magic, mirth and mayhem to their newly refurbished Drill House in Great Yarmouth with Cupid’s Masked Ball.

Seachange’s resident company Dizzy O’Dare curate a feast of comedy, circus and side-show silliness in what is fast becoming an established highlight of the Great Yarmouth arts scene.

The Drill House, SeaChange’s circus and street arts centre, is again transformed into a club format for a night of food, drink and adult circus and cabaret.

The show is compered by Dizzy O’Dare’s own Mike Imerson with a line-up that includes Zoe Jones, an astounding hand-balance artist who effortlessly blends elegance and jaw-dropping acrobatic strength.

Gentleman juggler Ian Marchant mixes laughter and breath-taking skill as he juggles a variety of everyday objects.  Alana Jones is joined by Great Yarmouth’s own Ellis Mae to perform a new aerial hoop act.

The bill also includes the silent comedy trickery of The Magic Fly and offbeat musical cabaret in the form of Miss Tricity Vogue.

Cupid’s Masked Ball takes place on Saturday 11 February.  Audience members are encouraged to create and wear their own valentine masks with a prize for the best.

Tickets are £12 (£9 concs) with group rates available.  To book and for further information on this and other events and classes at The Drill House, visit www.seachangearts.org.uk

About SeaChange Arts:

Great Yarmouth based but collaborating internationally, SeaChange are an independent arts development charity dedicated to delivering outstanding Circus and Street Arts events.  Working as the arts development and promotion agency for Great Yarmouth Borough Council, we also run creative projects of many kinds.

Our focus on Circus and Street Arts grows naturally from this seaside town’s rich performance heritage and provides us with an accessible medium for all kinds of projects, interventions and activities.

Throughout the year, we work with communities, schools, producers, artists, festivals, and local and international partners on a number of projects, sometimes intimate, sometimes immense – but always inspirational!

Much of this work is showcased each year at the Out There Festival.  Produced by SeaChange, Out There is now the region’s largest free festival of street arts and circus and regularly attracts audiences in excess of 50,000 people.

SeaChange Arts’ key partners:

Great Yarmouth Borough Council – SeaChange is contracted to be the arts development and promotion agency for Great Yarmouth Borough Council.  We work closely alongside all council departments to deliver an effective and exciting provision for the borough’s residents.

Arts Council England champions, develops and invests in artistic and cultural experiences that enrich people’s lives. We support a range of activities across the arts, museums and libraries – from theatre to digital art, reading to dance, music to literature, and crafts to collections. Great art and culture inspires us, brings us together and teaches us about ourselves and the world around us. In short, it makes life better. Between 2011 and 2015, we will invest £1.4 billion of public money from government and an estimated £0.85 billion from the National Lottery to help create these experiences for as many people as possible across the country.
