On Wednesday 22nd April 2009, Deepdale Farm and Deepdale Backpackers & Camping will be hosting the 2nd Annual North Norfolk Coast Earth Day.

North Norfolk Coast Earth Day is about the environment and sustainability. Exhibitors will be explaining their renewable technologies and environmental services. Advisors will be available to help you with your sustainability questions and offering presentations on a whole range of topics. Action groups will be explaining their schemes and activities.

FREE entry for visitors

2008 saw the first North Norfolk Coast Earth Day and about 1000 people attended the day. There were over 50 stands from organisations like the Energy Saving Trust, Sun Wind and Rain, Norfolk County Council, CPRE Norfolk and Just Green Ltd. Visitors had a good choice of presentations to attend, demonstrations of new technologies and the chance to tour the eco-friendly award winning facilities of Deepdale Backpackers & Camping.

2009 promises to be bigger and better. As the credit crunch hits, fuel prices continue to fluctuate unpredictably and generally people become more aware of the environment and their impact upon it, Deepdale expects an excellent day.

Exhibitors who would like to attend are asked to pay just £25 for the day. They can find more information by visiting www.deepdalefarm.co.uk/earthday where there is an exhibitors sign up form.

Jason Borthwick, the Diversification Partner of Deepdale Farms, said, “The positive feedback we got from both visitors and exhibitors after last years event was superb. We really felt it was worth developing this event. Now that Louise and Andrea have taken over the tourism side of the farm, we can work in partnership with them to put Deepdale even more firmly on the map as an superb example of what can be done to reduce the impact of a business on the environment.”

Louise Smith, the new tenant of the tourism facilities at Deepdale, said, “We are looking forward to welcoming the public and exhibitors to Deepdale. We’re really proud to be taking on the reins of this eco-friendly business and this is a great chance to open our doors and help everyone discover more about sustainability.”
