East of England’s biggest Art Fair returns for 2022

One of the biggest contemporary art fairs outside of London is set to return for 2022.

Art Fair East annually hosts artists, galleries and art dealers from across the world, attracting thousands of visitors to St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich, Norfolk.

As the major art fair for the East, the fair was founded in 2015 by leading Norfolk-based artists Will Teather and Brian Korteling, who will both be exhibiting at the event.

The pair are passionate about bringing contemporary art to the region, supporting artists and creating excitement around the visual arts.

Will Teather, who has showcased his work at New York’s Market & Design Fair, said: “I can’t wait for this year’s event, I’m already working on my paintings for the exhibition.

“There is nothing quite like meeting the artist in person or talking to an expert, as is often possible at art fairs.

“We have already received enquiries from artists both regionally and internationally about exhibiting at Art Fair East 2022, which is a promising start.”

Brian Korteling added: “It’s really great to be able to transform St Andrew’s Hall into an art space once again, we can expect to see lots of new, vibrant and inspirational works of art.”

Organisers have also confirmed that East Anglian wealth management firm Chadwicks are once again supporting Art Fair East alongside longstanding supporters Musker McIntyre Estate Agents & Financial Services.

Mr Teather said: “We’re delighted to have Musker McIntyre and Chadwicks joining us for 2022. Both are friendly and forward-thinking companies helping to put the region on the map, as we aspire to do for the visual arts.

“These two outward-looking dynamic companies, that serve the Eastern Region, reflect our ongoing vision for the event to be a major Art Fair for the East of England. Long may it continue.”

With around 1,000 artworks on display, a range of contemporary art will be exhibited including painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, video art, installation and original limited-edition prints.

This year’s fair will run from 2nd – 4th December at. St Andrews Hall in Norwich.

What is Art Fair East?

ART FAIR EAST is an annual event and aims to be an important art fair for the East of England. Our mission is to showcase quality galleries, dealers and artists to an Eastern region audience of art collectors and businesses. The 2021 fair takes place in the spectacular setting of St Andrews Hall, a well-known events venue at the heart of Norwich city centre.

Art Fair East is the kind of event rarely seen outside of London and provides a great chance for people to expand their existing art collection or start their own journey into collecting. We set this up to make a big event for the region, and a focus for the art scene, and encourage collectors to celebrate the area.

About the organisers

Will Teather is an acclaimed artist, arts writer and lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts who has been involved in the organisation of exhibitions across the UK and overseas and has recently exhibited in New York, Miami and London.

Brian Korteling has managed a graphic design company and is a designer, curator and award-winning visual artist. He has organised a range of exhibitions in the region over the past eight years.
