Ditchingham Chicken Roundabout is in Crisis, it is suspected many birds are being injured deliberately.
Gordon Knowles has been tending the famous chicken roundabout for many years, but is being pressured to stop feeding the colony as birds are being injured, and left to struggle with broken legs.
Very rarely have these birds ever been hit by traffic, and Mr Knowles feels that the number of injured birds is more due to a campaign to get rid of the chicken colony. Some of the injured birds have been placed in safe care by volunteers.
Gordon is requesting help with finding homes for the remaining birds, as he cannot continue to feed the birds on a regular basis under the current circumstances.
The roundabout has become globally famous, and in many ways has put Ditchingham and Bungay on the tourism map.
