Seats for all 3 of the films showing at the Fisher this month are already selling well.
If you would like to join in with THE GREATEST SHOWMAN (PG) SING-ALONG at 7.30pm this Saturday 13 April, don’t risk leaving it until the last minute to book your tickets.
It is looking as if COLETTE (15), screening at 7.45pm this Monday 15 April, will also be popular. Keira Knightley stars as the French writer who first found literary success as a ghost writer for her husband Willy. ‘Dominic West is a riot as Colette’s louche husband, but Knightley owns the film with a brilliant performance as the free-spirited author’ (Alistair Harkness in the Scotsman). The costumes are fabulous too.
Seats £5 and £3 (film club members only, no other concessions), available at the Fisher Box Office or online. For trailers and further information visit www.fishertheatre.org.
The film club returns at 7.45pm on Monday 29 April with BLACKKKLANSMAN (15), Spike Lee’s take on the extraordinary but true story of Ron Stallworth, the first African-American to serve as a detective in the Colorado Police Department. In the 70s, Stallworth undertook an implausible mission: to infiltrate and expose the Klu Klux Klan. BLACKKKLANSMAN blends comic irony and brutal fact, but still works very effectively as a crime drama. The film’s funny, fast-paced script won Lee and his co-writers this year’s Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay.
