FRESSINGFIELD GARDEN FESTIVAL
Sat 18th and Sun 19th June 2011
10am to 5pm

After 4 years, the famous Fressingfield Garden Festival, in north Suffolk, is back and will take place over the weekend of 18th and 19th June 2011. Here the traditional ‘open gardens’ has developed into a special event for both the amateur and more experienced enthusiast and it would be a wonderful place to visit on Father’s Day!

There will be 23 gardens open for viewing, from the large, grand version to the picture-book and from the well developed to the newer ‘in progress’ gardens, as at the school where the children are just starting to develop their own garden.

In the village centre, on the Fox and Goose Green, will be a Market Place with marquees and around 20 stalls, ranging from specialist and bedding plants to garden accessories, wrought iron work, small furniture, gifts, crafts, books, strawberries and ice cream.

For youngsters there is a Children’s Trail and on the Saturday afternoon children from Fressingfield School will be entertaining visitors with maypole dancing. You will also find a ride on miniature railway in one of the gardens.

The church will be decorated by local groups and individuals with displays of village life and flowers on the theme of My Favourite Things.

The Festival Food is second to none, with coffee and cake in the morning, Festival Lunch at midday and cream teas in the afternoon. The Swan Inn and Fox and Goose Inn will also be open all day, both days.

Easily accessible from both the A140 and A143 to the north of the county, this is a unique opportunity to learn more about our favourite pastime in a most enjoyable setting.

Admission to the gardens is £4 for adults (children FOC) covering either or both days. All other activities are free to visit. Programmes are available on the day from the central information centre or in advance from Fressingfield Stores or by calling 01379 586221 / 586269.

Proceeds from the Fressingfield Garden Festival will be given to local children and youth groups.

A very warm welcome awaits.
