Harleston Camera Club will be kicking of 2013 with a Social evening on Monday 4th February. Our plan for the first quarter is to look at the Exposure triangle and the impact the elements of the triangle have on your photography. We will have three Tutorial and practical sessions looking at each or these elements individually. This will empower our members with a good basic knowledge of how to use the Exposure Triagle to their advantage.

This will be a great course for beginners in the photography field, as well as for those who need their skills refreshed. Prehaps you recieved, or treated yourself, to a new camera at Christmas and it doesn’t function quite like your old one. Bring along your Camera, your manual(if you wish), a notepad and pen and join us to learn these basic elements which will help make your photographs great.

Our programme so far for 2013:

4th February –

Welcome back Social – A chance for members, old and new, to catch up after the long christmas break. Bring along prints of photos you have taken during the break, or email your photographs to [email protected] so they can be displayed on our projector. We look forward to catching up with our old members and hopefully meeting some new ones.

18th February –

Exposure Triangle – Part 1: Aperture. Bring along your camera, notepad and pen and learn how Aperture affects your photography.

4th March –

Exposure Triangle – Part 2: Shutter Speed. Bring along your camera, notepad and pen and learn how Shutter speed plays a part in making your photo.

18th March –

Exposure Triangle – Part 3: ISO and how all three elements work together. Bring along your camera, notepad and a pen and link these elements together.

1st April –

Exhibition Evening, Themes –  Aperture and Shutter Speed. A chance for you to exhibit your photographs that you have taken using your knowledge of the Exposure Triangle. On this evening we will look at each other photographs as a group and discuss these as a group. It is not a competition, but a chance to discuss with others why you took the shoot, how you took the shot and what you would do differently, if anything. It also opens an opportunity for creative criticism from other members on how they see your photograph and what they would have done differently and why. This is done in a relaxed atmosphere with no judging. So don’t feel intimidated, it’s all about becoming a better Photographer, wanting to learn and having fun whilst doing it.

Photography is an art form and we all express it differently.

Social activities and photo walks to be announced throughout the year.
