HEVENINGHAM HALL COUNTRY FAIR 2014 IS CLEARED FOR TAKE-OFF!

THE FULL LINE-UP ANNOUNCED

The organisers of this year’s Heveningham Hall Country Fair with Halesworth Lions’ Wings & Wheels, which takes place on Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th July, have unveiled an action-packed programme of attractions, competitions and events taking place over two days at the 18th Century Estate. Program-map-Heveningham-2014 Entirely new for this year are the Aerostars, Europe’s largest and most spectacular formation aerobatic display team whose six Yak 50 single seater planes will take to the skies twice each day to thrill the crowds with tightly-choreographed aerobatics, thunderous radial sounds and magnificent smoke effects, plus The Battle of Britain Hurricane which will join the Spitfire in flying over Heveningham Hall both days (weather dependent). Also new for 2014 is the Twister Aerobatic Team showcasing the highly efficient Silent Twister aircraft performing daytime ‘aerial ballets’. Heveningham-Hall-Country-Fair-with-Wings-&-Wheels-2014 Commenting on the event, chairwoman and charity trustee Anne Clark, said: “Last year’s Fair saw a record 15,000 visitors descend on the Estate amid glorious weather and, this year, we hope to welcome even more visitors over the two days with all proceeds going to local charities. Whether it’s vintage airplanes, cars or motorbikes, the many local animals who will be displaying their talents or simply the wide range of local food and craft exhibitors, there is something for everyone and all ages to enjoy.” New for 2014 in the Main Ring are The Devils’ Horsemen, who will be performing Cossack Trick Riding & Chariot Racing plus other returning performances from the Dog & Duck Show, Waveney Harriers, Terrier Racing and the Essex Dog Display Team. Hounds Other attractions include the Crompton Military Vehicles – as seen on television series ‘Combat Dealers’- Eagle Heights birds of prey, Samba Dancers, Tractor Parade, Craft & Food Hall, Trade Stands and large display of vintage vehicles. The Fair also plays host to the Heveningham Hall X 10km Run on Sunday 13th July plus the Little Heveningham Hall Run, a 1.7 km open grass field run for the under 15s which specifically raise monies for ‘Get Kids Going’, a fantastic national charity providing disabled children and young people – up to the age of 26 years – the wonderful opportunity of participating in sport. The charity provides specially built sports’ wheelchairs so young people can do a huge range of sports. Entries are now open for both runs and applications are available online at:  www.runheveningham.co.uk Hurrican-LF-Spitfire-P7-Shuttleworth-2010-Martin-Eames Commenting on the Vintage & Modern Airplanes expected to fly in to the Fair over the weekend, John Hill, a professional pilot with over 15,000 flying hours who is in charge of the airfield and aerobatic displays, said: “Last year saw around 100 vintage and modern airplanes flying in over the two days from all over Europe and at one point on the Sunday morning the airfield was busier than London Heathrow! This year we expect up to 160, with one confirmed airplane coming all the way from Australia. We welcome any pilots who can land on a 530m grass airstrip on either day.” This year’s attractions in the Walled Garden include the Ipswich Hospital Band, Tea Tent, East Anglian Air Ambulance, Huntingfield Magna Carta stand and Halesworth Community Nursing. In and around the Orangery, expect to see Punch & Judy, Swan silks, Nature Corner (on behalf of Bramfield Primary School), Flower Show, Tuxedo Jazz Quartet, Halesworth Golf Pimms & Beer, Guide Dogs stand and much more. In the Courtyard this year you will find the Huntingfield Arms bar, Perfect Vintage singing duo, Parravani Ice Creams and Information. In and around the Lake, this year’s events include Gun Dog Scurry, Canoes & paddle boarding, Archery and Zorb balls.
