THURSDAY 17th MAY at 7pm at Halesworth Public Library:
Want to know if solar panels really work in winter?

Can anyone afford ground-source heating?

Who’s got a heat-exchanger that saves them money?
Local people who have installed a whole range of energy-saving features in their homes will make a “panel” for you to question. East Green Energy, installers of renewable energy systems, will be there too.
There will also be displays, cake and local apple juice. It’s free, just come along.
HinT is part of the Transition Movement. Transition means change, and a change is coming whether we like it or not from relying on oil for transport, heat, light, food cultivation, waste disposal, clothing. Almost all the cheaply available oil has been got out of the earth and what is left can only be got with huge environmental damage. We are going to have to meet our own needs more directly within our communities, without using oil as much as we do now.
So HinT works with other local groups; the Town Council on allotments; the Library on their garden for veg and wildflowers (didn’t know they had a garden? have a look next time you go in); the Town Plan Group on setting up the 21m. cycle route The Halesworth Wheel; with all comers on “up-cycling” cast-off materials to make bunting for summer events; with the Halesworth Tourism Group to publish a Directory of local food sources.
