From pen to stage – Inside Out festival 2009

Actors from across the Waveney Valley are joining forces for the third year in succession to bring new, local drama to the stage.

The Inside Out 2009 festival, held on two Saturdays – 19th and 26th September – in Fressingfield and at the newly re-opened Wingfield Barns, is presenting thirteen short plays, all by local writers.

Half the plays will be performed outdoors during the afternoon – bring chairs, rugs and picnics – and half indoors during the evening.

With each play lasting just 10-20 minutes, and covering every type of drama from comedy to serious, and with a couple of radio plays as well, the sessions will fast-paced and highly entertaining.

And for younger people, Wingfield is offering free admission to under 18s for both the afternoon and evening performances.

Phone 01379 873536 to book your free space – and for all other enquiries or ticket orders.

Tickets, priced at £10 for both shows, £6 for one (conc. £8 and £5) will also be available on the door, subject to availability.

Organiser Alan Huckle, prolific playwright and founder member of the EyesWrite drama writing group is convinced this year’s festival has something for everyone. “This is a too-good-to-miss opportunity to watch new plays written by local writers at a cost everyone can afford,” he says.

And, if the festival inspires you to pick up a pen and have a go yourself, Alan and EyesWrite will be happy to hear from you – maybe your play could be performed next year! He can be contacted at the phone number above, or at [email protected]
