Jimmy Gralton returns to his native Ireland in1932 to help run the family farm.  He’d been deported ten years earlier after building a dance hall on a rural crossroads in Ireland.  When Jimmy decides to reopen the hall success comes quickly, but the influence of Jimmy’s radical ideas is not to the taste of everyone in the village.  This true story has inspired veteran British filmmaker Loach (THE ANGEL’S SHARE and THE WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY) to create an appealing period piece in which County Leitrim has never looked more beautiful.
