John Shuttleworth Hosts Evening at Cinema City to
Investigate ‘Is it Soft Down South?’

Self-styled comedian, organist and all-round eccentric John Shuttleworth is coming to Cinema City, Norwich, to host a question and answer session after the screening of his new film, ‘Southern Softies’ on Monday 1st March, starting at 8.30pm.

Shuttleworth, AKA Graham Fellows, first came to prominence in 1978 with the unlikely punk-styled pop hit ‘Jilted John’ about man unlucky in love. He has since carved himself a highly successful career with his alter ego John Shuttleworth, a prematurely retired Sheffield security guard hell-bent on a new life as a singer-songwriter and with a strange penchant for slicked back hair and roll-neck sweaters.

‘Southern Softies’ follows John on his travels to the Channel Islands to discover if it’s ‘soft down south’. John’s neighbour, Ken Worthingon, films the trip on his camcorder, then later – when Ken gets fed up and decides to go sunbathing – a professional film crew takes over. Shuttleworth meets a lot of fascinating people along the way…and one or two boring ones as well! The question remains, are these people ‘Southern Softies’?
