norwich ambassador scheme

If you’re passionate about Norwich, its cultural heritage and all its other remarkable assets, then join the Norwich Ambassadors Scheme and help spread the word about our fine city.

Norwich Heritage Economic and Regeneration Trust (HEART) in conjunction with VisitNorwich Ltd. are running another of the popular Norwich Ambassador Scheme courses on Wednesday 27th February, 2pm to 4.30pm at The Guildhall. Places are limited and on a first come, first served basis, but there are still a few places left for people who want to help champion the city.

The sessions are interactive and provide an overview of Norwich’s tourism industry, its cultural heritage as well as current events and festivals. The price per person is £25 (inc. VAT) and includes refreshments, Norwich Ambassador badge, window sticker, certificate and a delegate pack for participants to take away with useful general information about Norwich and the iconic Norwich 12 buildings. Trained delegates also receive free passes and money-off at some of Norwich’s key attractions and benefit from an exclusive series of Ambassador+ events and talks.

To book a place on the course please contact Rachel Barrett at HEART on [email protected] or 01603 599577. Please note that there is unfortunately no wheelchair access to the first floor where this training session takes place.

Michael Loveday, Chief Executive of HEART, said: “Norwich and its distinct quarters not only have a cultural heritage resource of international stature but also an incomparable package of shopping, entertainment, leisure pursuits and events. We urge anyone with an interest and pride in Norwich to join the Scheme, exploreNorwich’s hidden gems and share their knowledge to inspire others.”

Norwich-Ambassador-Scheme

The Norwich Ambassador Scheme was set up to reinforce a culture of pride and enthusiasm in Norwich, and encourage the provision of consistent, high quality, accurate information about the city and its heritage and cultural offer to visitors and local people. The scheme is intended to be of interest and relevant to a variety of people including accommodation staff, taxi drivers, information point operatives in shopping centres, shop staff, market traders and members of the public keen to broaden their own knowledge of what the city has to offer.

The Scheme was formed through HEART’s SHAPING 24 project, a cultural heritage and tourism initiative taking forward the Norwich 12 project with the Belgian city of Ghent. Over 250 people have been through the scheme and are now Norwich Ambassadors. The project was funded by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund (INTERREG IVA 2 Seas Cross-border Cooperation Programme 2007-2013).
