Laxfield All Saints’ Church
The 14th century All Saints’ Church stands at the heart of the village. The fine 15th century tower, visible for miles around, was immortalised by the late John Piper in a picture now held by the trustees of the Tate Gallery. The exceptionally wide aisle supports massive oak beams, giving the viewer the sense of being in an upturned boat. Memorials on the echoing stone floor reflect the lives of some of the previous occupants of the village.
