4 local musical groups are joining together in a first of its kind concert raising money for the Public Hall in Beccles.

The Beccles and Bungay Community Choirs, The Bellaires Handbell Ringers and Lowestoft Signing Choir will be performing together at The Public Hall in Beccles for an evening of music and singing on Sunday 21st October starting at 7.30pm.

Beccles Community Choir was started in February 2011 by local singer Stephen Amer and currently meets fortnightly on Tuesday evenings between 6:00-7:30pm at the Waveney Centre, Beccles. The choir promotes health and wellbeing through singing and other related aspects such as breathing and posture and energising and relaxation techniques.  Due to its popularity Stephen joined by his brother Paul, set up a sister choir in Bungay, which meets every third Monday from 6-7.30pm at the Riverside Centre in Bungay. More information about the choirs can be found at www.BecclesChoir.co.uk or on www.facebook.com/BecclesCommunityChoir

They will be joined by The Bellaires, a local handbell ringing group and member of the Handbell Ringers of Great Britain, who have performed at local, national and international events and the Lowestoft Signing Choir; a fully inclusive choir with 50 members, ranging from 4 to over 70 years, made up of volunteers who have an interest or commitment to the deaf community.

The concert will feature songs across many different genres and styles; tickets are £5 and available from Saxon Alternative Therapy in Beccles and online at www.becclespublichall.co.uk with all proceeds raised going to the Public Hall fund.
