THE DEMON BARBERS
Over the last eight years The Demon Barbers have gained major recognition for their original and imaginative approach to traditional music and song. They take mainly traditional ballads, strange tales of myth and magic and coil them, twist them, make them stranger, darker, becoming tales of Gothic danger; they don’t so much make folk rock as make traditional tales quiver and pulse with electricity.
Damien Barber – vocals/guitar/concertina, Bryony Griffith – fiddle/vocals,
Will Hampson – melodeon/harmonica, Lee Sykes – electric bass, Ben Griffith – drums
“Energetic fiddle and passionate, distinctive vocals ‘with driven punchy tunes and songs, drum ‘n’ bass grooves, the odd touch of ska and an ever present feel that this lot know how to party’ result in ‘one of the most exciting acts around… check them out…’

Vivaldi’s kinetic rhythms, fluid melodies, bright instrumental effects, and extensions of instrumental technique are performed by the costumed Locrian Ensemble, including The Four Seasons, a Concerto for Two Violins, an Oboe concerto, a Rustic Symphony and the brilliant violin concerto known as “Storm at Sea”. www.locrianensemble.co.uk

CLAIRE MARTIN
Acclaimed as the best ever British jazz singer by Jazz Times Magazine, Claire Martin was born to sing. Influenced by Ella, Betty Carter and Shirley Horn she posseses a peerless sense of swing, pure tone and a true improvisors ear but her love of great lyrics means that she always puts the
song first. While her off the cuff wit brings a dash of humour to her fabulous stage show. She’ll be performing material from her acclaimed new album ‘A Modern Art’ with a sensational band featuring pianist Gareth Williams, bassist Laurence Cottle and drummer Chris Daggley.
