“RIG A JIG JIG”
Garden Party at East Ruston Old Vicarage

The National Gardens Scheme in Norfolk are celebrating the end of the “Open Garden” 2007 season with a NGS “Rig a jig jig ” garden party at East Ruston Old Vicarage on the 6th October 2007 by kind permission of Alan Gray and Graham Robeson.

This is an opportunity for the Norfolk NGS to invite the private garden owners, commercial gardens and nurseries who open their garden gates and thank them for contributing to such a worthwhile cause.

Alan Gray, Ambassador for the National Gardens Scheme in Norfolk said “Few people realise that the NGS support national nursing caring and gardening charities with a proportion of some openings going to other charities nominated by the garden owner.”

Major beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie cancer care, The Queen’s Nursing Institute, Perennial – Gardeners’ Royal Benevolent Society, The Royal Fund for Gardeners’ Children, National Trust – NGS garden careerships, Crossroads – caring for carers, Help the Hospices and County Nursing Associations.

This event will help raise the profile of the NGS in Norfolk and its great horticultural product. Group and tour organisers along with the garden owners are invited to attend a VIP reception to mark the occasion.

It is a fantastic way to end the eightieth birthday celebrations of the National Garden Scheme in Norfolk and plan 2008 garden days out!

The East Ruston Old Vicarage garden gates open to the public at two o’clock until five thirty, admission £5.00

Enjoy a traditional garden party with folk and country music by the Rig a jig jig band. Let the children, grandchildren, or yourselves, listen to the story telling provided by the new woodland theme park BeWILDerwood to make a fantastic family day out.

Light refreshments, plant sales and handy garden tips are all available.
