The people of Norfolk are being asked to don their creative hats to help celebrate World Mental Health Day on Monday, 10 October 2011.

An exciting art exhibition supported by Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust will showcase work produced by people who struggle with mental health problems.

The exhibition, which is called ‘Fruits of the Mind’, has been organised by Norwich-based artist’s group The Well and will be at The Forum during 9am – 8pm until 14 October 2011. Entry is free to all.

The annual World Mental Health Day was started by the World Health organisations to promote open discussion around mental disorders, promotion local services and encourage investment in prevention.

The Trust is also hosting several events to highlight the links between physical health and mental wellbeing. Daily coastal path walks along Weavers Way and the North Norfolk Coastal path will start on 10 October with the final walk to Cromer taking place on 14 October.

A cycle ride from the Trust’s base at Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich to Cromer will take place on Friday 14 October.

Both cyclists and walkers will meet at the end of Friday to listen to a fabulous band, while treating themselves to some delicious warming soup.
