A new venture at Burnham Deepdale aims to bring the wildlife of Norfolk under closer observation for everyone with an interest in natural history.

The ‘One Stop Nature Shop’ opens its doors on the 1st December at Dalegate Market, Burnham Deepdale and will feature a wide range of equipment from binoculars & telescopes, to bat detectors, nest box cameras, magnifiers, night vision scopes and a comprehensive selection of microscopes.

Director Richard Campey said, “There is so much good equipment available now at very reasonable prices, it means we all have the chance of viewing wildlife without actually disturbing it”. He added, “With the huge interest in programmes like Spring and Autumn Watch, it’s now possible to set up inexpensive trigger cameras in your own garden to get a close up glimpse into the secret world of birds and mammals.”

Richard’s background as a former Biology and Science teacher, Wildlife presenter and his work with binoculars & telescopes over the last twenty years as Director of In Focus at Titchwell on the North Norfolk coast, makes him ideally placed to advise people on how to choose the best equipment.

“The One Stop Nature Shop is going to be a wonderful addition to the shops and café of Dalegate Market. Now there’ll be a shop to buy the kit to see that wildlife first hand, with expert advice thrown in!” said Jason Borthwick, developer of Dalegate Market. “It’s also great news that the new shop will be open for the Deepdale Christmas Market on the first weekend of December!”

The One Stop Nature Shop will be open seven days a week 10am – 5pm and will also be running a series of courses based around nature conservation. For more information visit: www.dalegatemarket.co.uk
