Wished you could try your hand at the king of instruments?
Wymondham Abbey is holding a free Organ Open Day on Saturday, November 19 2016, from 10am to 4pm.
Young players, beginners, organ enthusiasts or anybody with a few keyboard skills are encouraged to come and have a try. Even if youve never played an organ before, dont worry there will be expert guidance from Mike Webb, one of the Abbeys assistant organists. Visitors are also very welcome to come and listen.
The Abbeys main organ is a magnificent 1793 James Davis instrument, with three manuals and a pedal board. The survival of the major part of the original eighteenth century pipe-work makes it an instrument of considerable interest. With some more modern additions, it is extremely versatile for its size.
