REV UP FOR HOSPICE’S MOTORCYCLE RUN

Registration is now open for the second St Elizabeth Hospice Motorcycle Run, takes place on Sunday May 9th 2010.

Bikers will set off at 10am from Ipswich through Suffolk and back to the Orwell Crossing Truck Stop on the A14 where entertainment and refreshments will be laid on.

It will be a 25-30 mile scenic route through the countryside.

Last year’s motorcycle run attracted 700 riders and raised £6,500 for the Hospice and it is hoped that amount will be matched this year.

The event will be supported by Rob Day and Derek Barker, of Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists, and Ray Walters, owner of Orwell Motorcycles in Ipswich.

Mr Barker said: “We hope the 2010 St Elizabeth Hospice Motorcycle Run will be well supported. People will be keen to get their bikes out at that time of year.”

The Hospice’s community fundraiser Rachael Mittell said: “We were overwhelmed by the amount of people who took part last year and wanted to raise money for the Hospice. The bikers were so generous and there was a great atmosphere on the day. Thank you all so much and we hope you will be back this year along with some people taking part for the first time.”

It costs just £5 to take part and bikers can get sponsorship if they like. Closing date for registration is April 30th or when all spaces are filled. Bikers are urged to register as soon as possible.
