“Food for thought” at Waveney Rural Conference!
Waveney’s Rural Community Partnership wants to raise the profile of rural tourism and local produce at their forthcoming Rural Conference. Delegates are invited to sample a selection of local food and drink at the event which is on Tuesday, 3rd November at The Fisher Theatre, Broad Street, Bungay. 10 30am – 4pm.
The theme of the conference is “The Importance of Local Produce and Rural Tourism” with guest speaker Bob Blizzard MP. It is targeted at attracting businesses, local councils, voluntary organisations and social enterprises operating in rural Waveney. Other topics include Rural Transport, Wellbeing and funding to support initiatives.
Waveney Community Forum’s Senior Officer Fay Sheldon, who is coordinating the event, said “This is an excellent opportunity for local organisations and businesses to work together and promote “Local Produce and Rural Tourism” in Waveney. The event is aimed at raising the profile of tourism and local produce and how their positive impact will attract more visitors to the area, increasing the visitor spend and sustaining rural businesses”.
