Looking for something fun to do this summer holiday?

Look no further…
Twelve children from a Norwich primary school have launched a unique, free and fun family guide to city history. The Secret 12’s Time Traveller’s Trail takes you on a galloping adventure around 12 special buildings in the city which tell the story of Norwich history over 1000 years.

The children, from Lakenham Primary School, have been on an exciting adventure to make the trail – visiting the 12 buildings, choosing secret objects and features and adding them to their trail. They have designed every bit of it from colour to layout and text and have even invented a time travelling professor, Prof O, to help you explore the buildings.

The project was been designed and delivered by local heritage organisation LivingNorwich alongside the Castle Museum. The students, aged 7-9, have named the project The Norwich 12 Histories and Mysteries

Roxanne Matthews, Director of Living Norwich and Project facilitator said

“This has been an amazing opportunity to see Norwich through the eyes of children. The best way to engage kids in heritage is to let them lead the way and these 12 children have certainly done that!”

The project was inspired by a collection of 12 iconic buildings in Norwich grouped together by the Heritage Economic and Regeneration Trust (HEART) to represent different periods of city history. HEART have also provided the funding via the European Union Shaping 24 programme.

The free trail can be found at the Norwich Tourist Information Centre and at each of the Norwich 12 buildings or you can download it here:
