Seafront Fun on Sunday

Vibrant music and exciting dance moves are on offer at the Sealife Gardens on Marine Parade on Sunday 27 July when the Melting Pot cabaret programme goes Latin American!

Following the successful weekly sessions at Café Nova earlier this year, the Melting Pot is having a summer season, launching with a celebration of culture where everyone can have fun and find out more about Latin American and Caribbean culture.

If you watched the TV dance shows and wished you could move like that – now is your chance! Come down to the Sealife Gardens and learn the steps of Merengue and Bachata – two dance styles from the Dominican Republic that will get you moving and having fun. There’ll be a demonstration by experienced professionals and then a workshop where anyone can join in and get dancing.

Samba and salsa music to get you in the mood from DJs Alex and Laura will get your feet tapping – and you can sample some home-cooked Latin American food for a really authentic experience.

Argentinian guitarist Ariel Tula Lorenzana will also be performing – a virtuoso on the electric guitar he’s performed both with his band and as a solo performer in Argentina, Spain and since 2006, the UK.

Starting at 5pm, the event is free and open to all.

The Melting Pot is organised by SeaChange Arts and supported by Comeunity.

If you’re a young person under 25 who would like to be involved in the workshops and performance please contact SeaChange Arts on 01493 846550.
