The Air Display 2013

2013 is a special year for Seething Airfield as it marks the seventieth anniversary of its opening as RAF Seething, or Station 146 as its occupants, the United States Eighth Airforce named it. Construction of the airfield started in 1942 but wasn’t completed until 1943.

This year we have tried to provide a flavour of that time and whilst there are no B24 Liberators on the display circuit we are delighted to welcome the B17 “Sally B” to the Airday.

Once again we hope to be able to bring you the unmistakable sounds of the Mustang which would have known the airfield quite well seventy years ago, although none were actually based here, together with other aircraft of the era.

We also welcome some up to date displays and in particular welcome Seething favourites the Trig Aerobatic Team. Flown by Richard Grace and Dave Puleston, their display never fails to thrill.

And still to be announced are some special guests who will be on hand to help us commemorate this special anniversary. Watch this space!
