Electrifying ten-piece live band The Signatures, with special guest vocalists from the Northern Soul scene, Stefan Taylor and Lorraine Silver.

Stefan Taylor sings classic Northern Soul tracks such as ‘Do I Love You’, ‘Higher & Higher’, ‘Time’, ‘The Night’, and ‘I Surrender’.  

Lorraine Silver recorded ‘Lost Summer Love’ when she was 13 years old in 1965, which went on to become an iconic track at the legendary Wigan Casino in the 1970s. 

You can also hear many other well-known Northern Soul classics including ‘Landslide’, ‘I’m Gonna Run Away From You’, ‘I’ll Keep Holding On’ and the Burt Bacharach/Hal David penned ‘Long After Tonight Is All Over’.

Ashley Wass is the only British pianist to have won the London International Piano Competition and is a former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist. He first came to perform in Bury St Edmunds shortly after his success at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2000, and it is a pleasure to welcome him back with a programme that includes a work by Ukrainian composer Alexey Shor.

The Len Phillips Swing Orchestra make their debut at the Apex with their hit Sky Arts programme. Along with Matt Ford and Nicola Emmanuelle, they will celebrate a century of swing, tracing the development of big bands from Louis Armstrong’s New Orleans and the Paul Whiteman Orchestra through the golden age of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller to the contemporary tracks of Michael Bublé and Harry Connick Jr. Paying homage to the great big band singers Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr and Cab Calloway along the way with their 17-piece swing orchestra.

More than five decades on, the threesome has retained their precise vocal qualities and Valerie Holiday, Tabitha King and Freddi Pool, (The Three Degrees) can still make the claim as being the longest-running female vocal group in history!

The performance will feature plenty of songs from his 50+ year career in addition to showcasing some of his most recent work.  A singer songwriter of international acclaim who has played across the world, McTell brings his exquisite songwriting to life with virtuoso guitar picking and evocative stories.  His spellbinding songs and wry humourous anecdotes take the audience from his busker days in Paris, to concert halls in Australia and America and through the Streets of London.

Though first brought into the limelight as front woman for Fairground Attraction, who’s single ‘Perfect’ and album First of a Million Kisses both topped the British charts, Eddi began her career in the folk clubs of Glasgow before providing backing vocal for Eurythmics and Gang of Four.
