The Southwold Concert Series begins 2013 events with a concert by The Lawson Piano Trio on Saturday February 9th, 3:00pm, in St Edmund’s Church, Southwold.

The Lawson Trio is firmly established as one of the UK’s finest young chamber ensembles. Former Leverhulme Fellows at the Royal Academy of Music, they have studied with many luminaries of the chamber music world, and had numerous successes in competitions both at home and abroad.

They will perform a diverse and virtuosic programme, comprising of Trios by Mozart, Shostakovitch and Brahms, as well as a contemporary work by Anthony Powers, Professor of Composition at Cardiff University, which was written specially for the Lawson Trio.

The Lawson Trio will also be leading a workshop in Southwold Primary School on the day before their concert. The Trio is in great demand for education work, having led workshops in numerous parts of the UK, including London’s SouthBank Centre, for children of all ages.
