Back by popular demand, it’s super cool Soul DJs, Garry Emms (East Anglia) and Steve Greensides (Tune Up) for another high energy night of dancing to Northern Soul and Motown music with just the right balance between the two.
“There’s a special treat in store for those at this September event as the popular band, Heavy Sol, a much admired mod band will be playing the sounds of The Small Faces, Who, Jam and Weller cover. Plus loads of Northern Soul & Tamla Motown classics on vinyl, don’t miss”! said Garry
Move On Up Soul Night plus HeavySol is set for Saturday 16 September at 8pm ’til midnight, doors open 7.30pm.
Garry added “Looking forward to returning in September after the great night we had at the Hall in July – thanks to everyone for supporting it”!
Featuring spins, flips, and backdrops, the Northern Soul dancing style was inspired by the stage performances of visiting American soul acts such as Little Anthony & The Imperials and Jackie Wilson.
The Motown label produced over 525 albums and gave birth to some of America’s most iconic performers – The Temptations, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, The Jackson 5, Martha & The Vandellas, the Commodores, Lionel Richie and many other artists.
