Admission is free for showcase event

Organisers of acoustic showcase Suffolk Unplugged received a major boost this week after the Marina Theatre Trust waived its fees for the event enabling all tickets to be offered free of charge.

Suffolk Unplugged which takes place at the Marina Theatre this Saturday from 7.30 is set to give local musicians from Norfolk and Suffolk a platform to bring their music into the community. A whole host of home-grown talent is lined up including Lucy Sampson, Eastview Acoustic, Daniel Sopp, Rob Fincham, Sarah Spilling, Matchbox Heroes, Tyler Darrington, Jonathan Marriott and Coral Cross all being presented in one evening.

A Spokesperson for the Marina said ” We are very keen to promote new young talent and believe that the event will be a great way to showcase some of the best upcoming artistes from across the area. To add further support we have decided to sponsor the evening enabling all tickets to be free of charge.”

The event is organised in conjunction with Andy Graham, who has been arranging local music events including Halesworth’s Gig in the Park for over 15 years. He said “After presenting Ed Sheeran at 2010’s Gig in the Park, his legacy has left us with a wealth of talented young acoustic musicians and singer songwriters across the East Coast. This event provides the acts with a chance to perform together at a top class venue and is set to be a night of acoustic music you won’t want to miss!”

Free Tickets are available on a first come first served basis and need to be collected in person from the box office or by calling 01502 533200.
