Two sisters, kept as innocents at home, are liberated by a social worker and suddenly experience life on the streets of Tehran. A poignant, witty yet sharply observed film, directed by the 18-year-old daughter of Iran’s foremost director, who wrote the screenplay. It’s fiction, but based on a true story, and most of the real-life protagonists play themselves. The narrative is simple, unsentimental and engrossing.
