Imperfect Pearl

‘The Imperfect Pearl’

is a harmonious blend of theatre and live concert performance which can be seen at:

Westacre Theatre on
Friday 5th June at 7.30pm

Snettisham Parish Church on
Saturday 6th June at 7.30pm

with support from the arts and community development charity Creative Arts East.

The show tells the tragic story of Domenico Zipoli, an 18th Century Italian composer
whose works had been lost in time, until in 1972, thousands of his original music manuscripts were discovered in a Bolivian church toilet.

Scenes from Zipoli’s extraordinary life unfold, following his journey from the extravagant music salons of Rome to the Jesuit Missions of South America, and are played alongside his own authentic compositions. A string ensemble of four, led by Mark Latimer on Harpsichord, together with two award winning actors and singers, tell the remarkable and atmospheric story of this recently rediscovered composer.
