Historical Walks 2013 Mike Wabe as Henry Cabell 2

The Thetford Historical Character walk on Sunday 20th October features many new and interesting characters, all who have played a part in the town’s remarkable history. This is the last walk for 2013 and is quite different to previous ones as it takes participants on a walk around the Priory area of Thetford, starting at the Burrell Museum at 2pm. Charles Burrell will guide the group along the walk to meet characters such as the Duchess of Norfolk whose family were buried in the Priory; Catherine of Aragon who visited the Priory in 1513 along with her daughter Princess Mary; a Monk from yesteryear telling of miracles and murder through the centuries; a visiting Nun; General Haig whose troops were camped in the area in 1912; a Home Guard soldier; a Lighterman who worked the rivers and a Viking settler from the time of Sweyn Forkbeard.

The scripts for each of the walks have been written by Stuart Wright, member of the Thetford Players and Mayor of Thetford. As this is the last Thetford Historical Character Walk for 2013, pre-booking is strongly recommended as places are strictly limited.
