Thetford Players Auditions

Thetford Players are holding open auditions on Wednesday 11 March 2015, 7pm, at The Studio, Charles Burrell Centre, Thetford for the female version of ‘The Odd Couple’ by Neil Simon.

The play which has six female and two male parts reverses the gender roles from the original comedy made famous on stage and screen by Walter Matthau. The two mismatched roommates become Florence Ungar and Olive Madison while Trivial Pursuit replaces the regular poker game with their now girlfriends Mickey, Sylvie, Vera, and Renee.  Manolo and Jesus take the place of the Pigeon sisters becoming the Costazuela brothers.

The Odd Couple replaces the previously announced ‘Allo ‘Allo as this year’s Thetford Players summer production but will still be directed by Sheila Welland. Jo Cooper, Chairman said, “Unfortunately we have been unable to continue with ‘Allo ‘Allo at this time. The availability of enough male actors to fill the roles proved difficult and so we have made the decision to change the production with the hope we can revisit the classic BBC Comedy at a later date.”

Members and non-members aged 16 or over are invited to audition for ‘The Odd Couple’ next Wednesday at The Studio. For further information please contact [email protected]
