smart phones

No sooner have we received our shiny new smart phones and revelled in their technological delights, then we quickly look to the future for the next upgrade.

2017 promises to build on a remarkable 2016 which saw Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 go up in flames (literally), Google enter the fray with their Google Pixel and Apple’s arrival of the eagerly anticipated iPhone 7.

2016 also saw the end of the former top selling Blackberry brand, as a lack of innovation and adaption to the market cost the one time giant its place in the mobile communications sector.

However, enough about the past as we take a look at three smart phones to watch out for in 2017, and where better to start than with the heavyweights of the market, Apple.

Apple

Widely expected to be Apple’s biggest launch, the iPhone brand enters its tenth year since the original iPhone was released on the 29th June 2007, and Apple has been reportedly being saving some of its ground breaking features for the 2017 iPhone.

A reported ‘all-glass’ version which will use a new cutting-edge OLED display which will be perfect for choosing your favourite slots sites from places such as Your Mobile Casinos.

It is expected the iPhone 8 (if that is what it is to be called) will do away with the traditional ‘home’ button and replace it with a touch sensitive ‘illusion tab’ which will use the same haptic motors used in the iPhone 7.

As is tradition with Apple, the new iPhone will most likely have a September release date, in anticipation for the Christmas rush and the recommendation is to start saving now as it will not come cheap.

Samsung Galaxy s8

Reportedly, Samsung are planning to launch two separate Galaxy s8 devices next year keeping with tradition.

The larger device could ‘borrow’ the idea of a larger screen from the doomed Galaxy Note 7 and could be Samsung’s largest offering to date.

The curved edged screen will be retained, but for both models rather than just the premium version and for the first time Samsung look to take on Google and Apple by launching their own AI voice assistant reportedly called ‘Viv’.

Viv, will integrate with Samsung’s array of gadgets including Smart TV’s and their Gear S watches in a bid to compete with the above rivals.

LG G6

The new LG G6 could well prove to the first big release of the year with an anticipated launch date of February.

The current G5 was tepidly received and leaves LG under pressure to compete with main rivals Samsung.

The new phone is expected to feature plenty of new tech including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 830 chip, Google’s Android 7.0 Nougat OS, and it will more than likely feature wireless charging.

Similar to their rivals Samsung, it has been rumoured that LG’s G6 will also feature a curved OLED but that has apparently fallen flat due to supply issues.

However, LG are expected to continue (and possibly upgrade) their impressive 1440p QHD display which creates a higher resolution than most other handsets.

2017 promises to be quite a year in the smartphone industry so choose your next upgrade wisely.
