Children aged 14 and under can not only go free, for the first time ever, to this year’s Suffolk Show but once inside the gates there is also so much to see and do that doesn’t cost a penny. Here’s a glimpse of all you can explore, discover, taste and enjoy from when the gates open at 7.30am on both days.

Head straight for the new Farm Discovery Zone a massive area that contains equipment and interactive activities explaining all about the life of a farmer and how your food is produced, all set out in themes.

• Ride a child size tractor
• Sit in a real size tractor and combine harvester
• Stroke a little calf
• Watch eggs hatch and hold a tiny chick or duckling
• Cook – make a pizza – and eat it!
• See the carrot lifestory from seed to soup!
• Have a go at making sausages
• Watch a Sheep Show – yes really – live sheep performing and being shorn.
• Cheer on the pigs over obstacles in the Olympigs!
• Participate in more than 20 sports, with registered coaches
• Go pond-dipping and wildlife hunting
• Be first to see the BBC’s special World War I exhibits and discover life as it was then
• See an Apache helicopter role demonstration
• Watch the NEW Parrot roadshow comprising all rescue birds.
• Cheer on your favourite jockey in the cute, but fast and furious Shetland Pony Grand National
• See some of the county’s favourite mascots all in one place – racing in a ring. Bluey and Crazee, a giant strawberry, Pudsey Bear, Pound the Hound, Woody Bear, Easton and more…
• Sample some local foods for free in the Adnams Food and Drink Experience.
• Bring your own picnic and sit and eat it in 100 acres of parkland enjoying free music, street acts and other entertainment all day.
