The-White-Reindeer

The White Reindeer

Children will be enchanted by the tale of The White Reindeer which will be performed by the fantastic Big Mouth Piano Tales theatre company at Diss Corn Hall on Saturday 16th November at 2pm, with support from the arts and community development charity Creative Arts East.

This exciting story follows the adventures of a boy called Aldred. He is saved from a snowstorm by a magical White Reindeer and soon finds himself flying, dancing with trees and having an unusual midnight feast! But things begin to go badly wrong, when he is caught by the Scary Squire. Only the audience can help him escape – they must sing, act, dance and above all listen to the music wherein lies the key to the mystery of The White Reindeer.

The Fitzrovia Radio Hour

The Fitzrovia Radio Hour

The critically acclaimed and sell out show The Fitzrovia Radio Hour is coming to village halls across Norfolk and Suffolk in November, with support from the arts and community development charity Creative Arts East.

Recreating the unique spirit of 1940’s radio plays and brilliantly evoking a dinner-jacketed age of casual imperialism and stiff upper lips, The Fitzrovia Radio Hour is performed with cut-glass theatricality blending homage and satire.

Throughout the radio plays, sound effects are created live: a Bakelite hairdryer imitates a heating torch, a desk fan becomes an aeroplane, and multiple types of cabbage help to stage a fight scene. Rippingly good fun!

Reviews of The Fitzrovia Radio Hour includes:

Absolutely spiffing teatime show that recreates the innocent, clipped, Bulldog Drummond spirit of Forties live radio drama… ripping yarns. – Daily Telegraph ****

Huzzah for the Empire’s finest! Vowels are as neatly clipped as the gentlemen’s moustaches, upper lips as stiff as their shirt collars, and emotions are kept as concealed as a woman’s knee. – Mail On Sunday ****
