TravelSmart Plus Home Visit Advisor

£11.50 per visit, temporary until Christmas, occasional hours

Sustrans, the UK’s leading sustainable transport charity, is recruiting a Home Visit Advisor to work on its TravelSmart project in Lowestoft. The project aims to cut car use by offering free information to help households walk, cycle and use public transport more often.

As part of the project, households can request a home visit at which an advisor will provide more in depth advice and information on cycling, walking and/or public transport. Areas of discussion may include local journey planning, safe routes, health benefits, equipment, bus timetables and fares.

To succeed in this job you will need good communication skills together with an excellent knowledge of the local area, walking, cycling and/or public transport. You will also need to have a genuine interest in promoting sustainable transport.

Ideally we are looking for someone who can advise on all three modes of transport – walking, cycling and public transport – though consideration will be given to candidates with the necessary skills and experience in just one or two of the modes.
