Wanted: dynamic chair for Healthy Ambitions Suffolk!

If you are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives in Suffolk, then Healthy Ambitions Suffolk wants to hear from you!

Project leads behind the initiative to make Suffolk the healthiest county in the UK by 2028 have begun the search for an energetic, motivated and passionate chair to help boost health and wellbeing across the county.

The chair will lead Healthy Ambitions Suffolk partnership development board, which meets around six times per year and is responsible for allocation of funds and for monitoring and reviewing performance.

The successful candidate needs to have excellent communication skills and be passionate about improving health, particularly amongst the county’s most disadvantaged groups. Their responsibilities will include helping to raise the profile of Healthy Ambitions Suffolk across the county to encourage more people to get involved.

Sally Hogg, head of health improvement partnerships at NHS Suffolk, said: “We’re looking for a strategic thinker who can influence policy across the Healthy Ambitions Suffolk partnership to drive the aims of this important project.

“The chair will need to be committed to the aims of the initiative and passionate about improving the county’s health. We also hope they’ll be full of great ideas about how we can make this fantastic project even better in the future.”

Anyone who would like to express an interest in this voluntary role should contact Sally Hogg, by emailing [email protected], by 18th March 2010.
