Death is on our Roads!

35 Deaths and Rising?

While reading through a newspaper this week. I came across the report from a senior police officer from Suffolk’s road policing unit. This is really alarming figures.

He stated as from January 1st to November 2nd 2009 a total of 35 people have been killed on Suffolk roads, this compared to the whole of 2008 when the total was 31.

13 died were car drivers
5 passengers in cars
10 motorcyclists
6 pedestrians
1 cyclist
12 killed were under 25 years old

This is higher, but serious injury collisions are lower than this time last year, 291 compared to 314 on 2008.

Come on all us road users lets help to get these numbers down.

Road users must slow down and drive to the conditions.

Every Friday from 4pm used to be the time of more road accidents with people rushing home for the weekend. But now every day there are more and more road reports on local radio. Roads being closed to clear damaged people and damaged cars.

When you listen to these reports it’s accidents on roads which were never really mentioned before, yes our many rural roads mostly it was A14, A11, A47 and A12.

So always remember
