A novel scheme organised by Garden Organic, the UK’s leading organic growing charity which has been at the forefront of the organic horticulture movement for 50 years and is dedicated to researching and promoting organic gardening, farming and food. Would you know your “Rent payer” from your “King of the Ridge”?

The Victorians grew over 120 different varieties of tall garden pea providing a continuous picking of freshly shelled peas throughout the summer months. A century later, frozen peas reign supreme.

Garden Organic’s ‘adopt a vegetable’ scheme strives to safeguard numerous dying breeds of all sorts of British veg. £20per year per veg.
