Waveney Springs for the Fourth Time
Following the success of the last three years, Waveney Springs Art Collective is launching its fourth Art Trail with Open Studios in September. There will be three main events which should attract all those interested in art.
From 2nd September there will be a taster exhibition held at the Stables Gallery Diss until 16th September which comprises of work by both professional and amateur artists. There is great variety in both the style and subject matter of the works and it is promised that there will be something for everyone’s taste. This is accompanied by Art in Shop Windows. Over fifty shops in Diss will be showing works by the artists. Waveney Springs exhibited in shop windows in 2010 for the first time and the group is delighted that this year even more premises have agreed to show works of art throughout the month of September.
The third aspect of the Art Trail is that of the Open Studios. Individual studios will be open for two weekends in September, entrance is free and the dates are 10th and 11th and 17th and 18th September. The artists will be happy to show visitors their work and discuss techniques and inspirations. There will be a wide range of media including drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, stained glass and printmaking.
Brochures and maps of both the Art in Shop windows and Open Studios will be available from The Old Stables Gallery at The Corn Hall, Libraries and the Tourist Information Centre.
