The Wayland Agricultural Show’s Masquerade Ball held at Lynford Hall on Saturday 15th March 2014 saw over 200 guests don their best masks and raise over £8,000 for charity.

A live auction with prizes donated by local businesses including Barnham Broom Hotel, The Hoste, Tottenham Hotspur Football Club and The Elveden Inn raised money for Nelsons Journey with entertainment provided by the Jak Ropa Roadshow.

The 212 guests also enjoyed dancing, casino tables and a photo booth.

Winners of the Best Masked couple judged by the chairman and his wife were Mr and Mrs Younge from Elveden who won a year’s subscription to EDP Norfolk Magazine for their homemade masks made from real feathers.

Ian Whettingsteel, chairman of the Wayland Agricultural Show says: “The ball was a great success and people donated generously to raise funds for Nelsons Journey. There was a great atmosphere with live music and a fun game of heads and tails contributing to the success of the evening.”

The Wayland Agricultural Show, one of the longest traditional shows of its kind will be held on Sunday 3rd August 2014 and advance tickets can be purchased online now at waylandshow.com.
