BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
at Theatre Royal
A traditional family pantomime written by Chris Hannon and directed by Karen Simpson.
Join us for a journey of enchantment and magic in one of the most loved fairytales of all time!
Set in the depths of Beastly St Edmunds, the story of Beauty and the Beast is brought to life in our traditional family pantomime!
Who is the mysterious beast hiding in the shadows?
Will Beauty overcome her fears? And will love conquer all?
There will be plenty of music, wonder, fun and laughter in a story to warm your heart and make your spirits soar – a perfect and captivating family treat for the festive season.
Gala Performance: Join us on Sunday 11 December at 1pm (show starts at 2pm) for our special gala performance. Ticket price includes show ticket, fun and fancy dress before the show, ice creams, programme, goodie bags for the children, drinks and light nibbles.

Anna is beautiful and admired, but empty, until a chance meeting with the handsome and dashing Vronsky throws her into emotional turmoil and a scandalous affair. Levin is an idealistic man trying to find the meaning of life.
Set 50 years after the events of War and Peace, Tolstoy explores themes of personal responsibility, fate and powerlessness through the two parallel lives. Both are pursuing happiness and defying convention, but one ends in tragedy and the other with a tantalising promise of hope.
Bury Theatre Workshop return to Theatre Royal with this powerful, passionate production.

AN EVENING WITH CLARE PRESLAND
at The Athenaeum
An evening with Mezzo Soprano Clare Presland at The Athenaeum and The Angel Hotel.
The Angel Hotel and Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds present an intimate evening with Clare Presland, mezzo soprano, and her pianist. Winner of the Chilcott Award, Clare regularly performs with ENO, she made her Royal Opera House debut in 2014 returning earlier in the year for the world premiere of 4.48 Psychosis by Philip Venables.
Clare takes a break from her busy operatic career to return to Bury St Edmunds for an evening to perform her favourite operatic arias.
The Angel are offering a pre-show, two course, dinner for £20 a head and, following the recital, drinks with Clare in the Wingspan Bar, located in the 12th Century vault under the hotel, at £10 each.
